Hi there.
Are there programs you can download that you can run on a c64 or an emulator to create say: signature tracks or kill tracks on a g64 or real commodore disk? if so, can you tell me where I can get them?
Thanks

There was some protection software like CSM that had utilities to do that. You could also say that some "parameter" copiers like Fast Hack'em and Maverick did some of this.

Don't think my last post worked. Try this book (Inside Commodore DOS)...

I see why - it doesn't allow d64 attachments. I have the image if you're interested in the programs out of the book.

The Maverick GCR editor can write copy protection that cannot be nibbled. Kracker Jax Revealed gives an example, storing some bytes in a tail gap. it tells you how to write the protection with the GCR editor, and then gives an example on how to check it.

Also, many paramers did dupe protection. Check kracker jax Demon Stalkers parameter for an example of writing out a key track that can't be nibbled on a stock 1541 drive.
